Thoughts of a Sugarhood Liberal

So, I am up with excitement to vote tomorrow. I can't wait to cast a ballot in an election that will forever alter the political and American landscape for decades. Many of you have already voted and for those who have not; don't underestimate the power of your vote.

I remember the first thing I thought when I saw the speech below; here is my generations Kennedy. I wrote about it earlier and honestly can't put it any more clear than that. His policy won't be the strongest; his ability to move bills through congress won't be legendary. But what Obama does is show the America that the dream is still alive and well; the American dream.

There is no man that embodies this more right now when this nation needs it the most. The parallels to Nixon and Bush in terms of distrust in our nations government eerily close. Our nation needs a man who regardless of if you agree with him; he commands your respect. Bringing respect to the Oval Office, abroad and more importantly to each American will resonate far and wide.

My perspective on Kennedy is limited to school books, libraries and stories from my parents. He represented hope for a nation that was in need to believe they could change this country. Obama represents hope to this generation. We've long heard the power of the youth and the lack of their voter turnout.

Tomorrow will change that perception. Tomorrow everything changes. Tomorrow Generation X, the Dot.Com generation or whatever label you want to put on us is going to turn out and change this country.

Unlike the John Mayer song; tomorrow is the day we don't have to wait for the world to change; cause we'll already have done it. Go Obama

As many influential experts and publications have repeatedly pointed out, Obama is part of Generation Jones, born 1954-1965, between the Boomers and Xers.

Here's a recent 5 minute GenJones video which features many top pundits specifically talking about Obama's membership in Generation Jones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ta_Du5K0jk
