The Friends & Family Plan

I believe I'm supposed to start this mindless meandering with something like "Man, it's been so long since I've written". Well, not today; it seems like yesterday I posted a blog. Man, it feels like Christmas Eve all over again. Hell, I can't lie; it has been a long time. A longer hiatus than normal for me.

I'm the typical monthly blogger and for some reason have been a little apathetic to blogging for some reason or another. Maybe the lack of time; lack of motivation; lack of topics to write about or maybe my dad was right; this whole "blog" technology is just a fad and won't be around long.

Either way, I'm here writing and you are here reading. So, let's make this awkward like a high school first kiss and try to make it through without missing our target okay? Great.

First off, I have some of the greatest, opinionated, passionate, irritating, caring, hilarious, talented, stubborn and brilliant friends. You're thinking that is one hell of a back handed compliment. But allow me to elaborate. Why would I emphasize the negatives alongside the positives? Well, it is what makes me appreciate them all the more.

They care about me, each other and themselves to be all of the good and bad all in one. Much like family; you love them, but damn they can annoy the living shit out of you. So, with that in mind; I want to thank my friends for just being there for me. Calling me out on my shit; playing video games when I need to think about something other than what the hamster wants to drone on and on about and just being you.

I know you have not always agreed with my decisions; agreed with how I deal with my own issues. But regardless you are always there when I need you; even if you annoy the hell out of me. But let's get the facts straight; you're just paying me back for all the times I annoyed you to the point of insanity.

It's Miller Time

One thing everyone can agree on when Larry H. Miller is brought up; you love him or you hate him. It was impossible to have a neutral opinion of him. Growing up as a Jazz fan; my perspective of him was skewed. I didn't agree with his politics, religion or even how he approached business.

However, I can't tell you how much I appreciate him as a basketball fan. He kept our beloved Jazz here in Salt Lake when no one else would have thought they would stay. He gave Coach Sloan the power to discipline players no matter what their salary was and backed up up 100%.

But above all else; he saw what this team meant to this community and fought like hell to keep it here. The Jazz are a corner stone of the NBA and a franchise that despite it's small market and lack of championships; franchises still try to emulate. So, than you Larry for keeping the Jazz here and showing they belong in the NBA and in Salt Lake. Rest in Peace Larry.

Kicking it old school like a rotary dial

Time to do what I do best; random lists. Cat; you may want to divert your eyes here cause this may go for a bit.

- Dentists suck. Four days later my tooth still hurts. WTF?
- I find it ironic that after a year plus of Paul's pressure to get an iPhone he is now upset we all listened
- But the iPhone is the most fun one can have on a phone
- I'm ready for my love affair with warm weather, shorts, flip flops and open sunroofs to begin
- For those who haven't been at my place recently. I added another lamp and man did it make a difference
- Hey, have you heard? The Utes won the National Championship? GO UTES!!!
- I am still wondering why everyone talked about getting "Snuggies" but no one did. Really people? Really? Here's the link for you to order
- I still think Mikey Mike and Dan are both closet Benjamin Button fans and are really lactose intolerant but are ashamed to admit it
- The Jazz finally have everyone back. 55 games later they finally have the roster they were supposed to have to start the season. Time to kick ass and take names
- My mom joined the technology world and began to text. My mom is all grown up now
- There ain't no party like my nana's tea party ::Hey....Hooo::
- Oh, Paul; you really should watch this show. I think you'll like it
- It's still all about the Hamiltons baby
- Street Fighter IV turns all grown men into 14 year olds again. After enough hours playing; you'll be saying "sike", doing the Carlton to celebrate a "Perfect" round and saying Kris Kross will make you wanna JUMP JUMP
- Yes, another FOTC link. But this one is dedicated to Ryan and Cat. My challenge to you in France is to recreate this video in France.
- I chose to write this blog over going to the gym; wise move?
- I'm still on the fence on whether to do the 25 List thingy-ma-jig.
- Listening to the FOTC makes me want to make every other line on this list a lyric from their album. Oh...going to see them in concert; HELL YEAH!!!
- I got my swim trunks and my flippy floppies; I'm flippin' burgers and you're straight flippin' copies
- Paul; if you could steal a smooch from any guy in Hollywood, who would it be?
- Kirsten; my deepest apologies for my horrible use of puntuation.
- I've said it once and I'll say it again, Jose Conseco needs to be in the Hall of Fame. He changed an entire era of baseball players. He was right about everyone he called out. Including A(HGH)-Rod
- Basketball is to the best part of the year and baseball is around the corner
- I may release rats in Paul and Mikey Mike's homes just to see this in action. Lord help them if the mice ever come to my house again

So, there you have it. I blogged. It was pretty long and verbose. I am sure I could keep on writing but I'm Ghost like Swayze.

LHM did bring a great sports franchise to Utah... that would be the extent of my respect for him.

My mom started texting a few months ago. I get annoyed when she uses "ru" or "ur" or any other text-slang. Not cool mom, not cool.

I will refrain from any comments regarding the National Champ Title... or lack of.
